She received her Master’s in Public Administration and Education in 2023 from the University of Montana, Blewett School of Law.
Skiptales 3 Goals
1. Deep Dive into Literacy: Personalized Reading and Writing Workshops: Our dedicated 90-minute daily session is THE cornerstone of Skiptales literacy development. In this concentrated block, every child reads and writes at their level. We utilize a dynamic approach, integrating one-on-one instruction with a Lead Teacher, targeted small group work, and focused independent practice. This ensures personalized support and challenges tailored to each student’s unique learning journey, fostering strong foundational skills and a lifelong love of language.
2. Environmental Stewardship: Cultivating a Mindset of Care and Action. Skiptales empowers students to become proactive environmental stewards, fostering a deep sense of responsibility to minimize harm and actively contribute to solutions. This commitment extends from maintaining our classroom as a clean and safe learning environment to cherishing and protecting our beautiful outdoor spaces and ultimately safeguarding the health of our planet. Through hands-on experiences and critical thinking, we inspire a lifelong dedication to sustainable practices and responsible global citizenship.
3. Social Interaction: Fostering Collaborative, Respectful, and Empathetic Engagement: Skiptales cultivates a vibrant environment for positive social interaction, beginning with foundational skills like respectful introductions. Through weekly group projects, students learn the power of collaboration, developing strong teamwork and communication abilities. Crucially, we equip them with effective conflict resolution strategies: guided practice identifying core issues, actively listening to diverse perspectives, thoughtfully debating potential solutions, collaboratively creating choices, and ultimately reaching a fair resolution. This democratic approach builds empathy, respect, and the confidence to navigate social dynamics effectively.
